My name is Alex Kent, a current 2026 graduate who is driven to playing NCAA post secondary hockey. I am 15 years old and born on December 17, 2008.
I am a proud student at Havergal College, an elite all girls private school in Toronto, Canada who achieved an honours with distinction certificate in my freshman year, and currently maintain an honours status. I am a multi sport (hockey, track, flag football) student athlete who additionally prides herself on her academics. I love challenging myself in the classroom, and my courses for my grade 11 year include a number of AP and Grade 12 courses. My goal is to attend a college with a strong liberal arts and business program.
Hockey is my passion. What sets me apart is my steely drive and determination to do extra skates and off ice workouts to take my game to the next level. I love the process of getting better every day so I can improve my individual skills, be a better teammate and helping my team win games.
I am a 200 ft ice, two way centre with great hands, strong skating and play making abilities. I thrive in the face off circle winning 60 percent of my draws in most games.I am able to use my size, reach, and skill in every on ice situation, while remaining defensively responsible. I am also versatile as I played the flank on our power play and was a penalty killer. I can play the wing when called upon.
I thrive on feedback from my coaches and always strive to improve on every shift. One of my biggest assets is my ability to beat opponents with my speed, quick hands, shot and deceptiveness. Even at high speed, I maintain the ability to make smart decisions and provide scoring opportunities across the ice. My shot is strong, and is constantly improving. Finally, as a result 2x week power skating classes, I have excellent edges, and I am able to use it to my advantage while scanning the ice and driving to get the puck. When in battles for the puck, I am a fearless and aggressive player. I also bring leadership qualities that stem a lot from my relentlessness. I am not afraid to get my nose dirty on the forecheck, win a puck battle, make a play to the net or set up a teammate for a scoring opportunity.
