I always strive to be the best, whether or not I'm having a good day. I get along with all of my teammates, and I have long-time friendships with most of them. I try to bring as much positivity to the team as possible and when I see a teammate or someone around me struggling, I try my absolute best to help them succeed. This season I've helped my school get together a girls ice hockey team, and we're doing extremely well for our first year in the league. I try to make the locker room and the ice on all of my teams a safe and joyful place to be because without the feeling of safety and joy, hockey isn't as enjoyable as it could be. My grades are high and I got a 1220 PSAT (680 Math/ 540 ELA). I'm in Gifted Seminar, and all advanced classes. This Year I'm in 11th grade, taking AP Lang and AP Clac AB along with all honors for the rest of my classes. In grade 9, I took AP computer science principles for my elective and I took AP Statistics in grade 10. My teachers all enjoy having me in class, as I work well with others and I highly enjoy the content that is taught. My best subject is Math, as my Algebra II teacher said I was one of the top in the class. In the 2017-2018 school year, I was a player for my school’s boy’s JV team, and we won the JV AA championships. My hobbies include singing, riding my bike, and reading. I've been singing ever since I could talk, and over the years I've found that my best friend and I sing really well together. I like riding my bike with my mom as a way to spend time together as a family. Reading is one of my favorite things because I can get so engrossed in the plot and by the characters and I could honestly read for hours. Since I was young, I have always had the dream of going to a good college and do what I love. Over the years I have found that my passions are Ice Hockey and Psychology, so through out my years I have come to this conclusion from my observant personality, my love for the show ‘Criminal Minds’, and the fact that I've personally excelled in Hockey. I'm so intrigued in discovering why people do what they do. I find it so interesting that your brain makes you do things but the things you do can be different than what other people do. That was kind of confusing, but I just can't stop thinking 'why?', and for that reason I would love to study neuroscience in college. My goals after college are hopefully go to med school and follow the career path to become a forensic psychiatrist.Along with academics, I feel as though I’ve grown a lot as a hockey player as well in the past year or two. My shot has improved, but my skating has improved most of all. My speed has significantly increased, and I've learned to use my body when faced with a 1 on 1 battle for the puck. This season, I’ve been playing on the Jr. Flyers U16 AA Elite team as a defenseman. I have also played center when my coaches have needed me to. Two years ago, my boy’s team participated in a skill competition. I was part of the hardest shot portion of the competition, where I didn’t place, but I had clocked a 65 mph slapshot. In the years 2015-2016 & 2016-2017 & 2017-2018 I had participated in the Atlantic District Camp. Overall, I'm an exceedingly good student athlete and I think that I would make a great addition to your team!
