My names Alison Xiao and I play for the Dallas Stars Elite AA 17u team and for my city’s boys varsity team, Frisco. I’m on the ice everyday training and getting better and better each day while also using my time at home wisely by studying hockey games, working on off ice speed and agility drills, working on my hockey IQ, and developing a stronger and more confident mindset. I’m a very hard worker and am very determined to develop into a stronger, faster, and smarter player every time I'm practicing on or off the ice.
Something that sets me apart from most recruits is that I started hockey at a late age. I started right before my freshman year, and was determined to prove that while the amount of time you've been playing can effect a persons skill level, it's the hard work and dedication that puts people apart. I've surprised every single coach that has ever coached me whether it be during lessons, camps, clinics, or team coaches in general, when they learn how long I've played.
While handling a very busy schedule I still manage to get almost all As in PAP advanced and AP college courses, showing my dedication to my academics. I am also involved in my school orchestra, and have played the violin for almost 7 years, displaying my interest and involvement in the musical arts.
I would be a great candidate for your team because of my good team character, my positive attitude, and my ability to have good chemistry with almost anyone I play with by adapting my play style to theirs.
I work hard and show up 110% everyday to all practices and games to get better not only for myself but for my teammates. I am looking forward to developing well enough this season (junior year) to play at the D3 Level in College.
