My name is Sarah Hoffman, I am 5'1 and around 113 pounds. I've been playing goalie for the past three and half years. This season, I am an 05 playing on a women's U19 travel team for the Reston Raiders Hockey Club in Northern Virginia. I've had many games with 30+ shots and 2-3 goals against. I've always had a love for sports and I have been told by many teammates that I encourage them to play better and I cheer on my teammates. I've had coaches and parents from other teams come up to me after games to congratulate my playing. I hope to be a leader for my team and to be a role model for younger girl players. I've helped teach girls from younger teams on playing goalie and have been a mentor to many. I've been told I'm very coachable and I follow instructions well. I'm always eager to learn and I try as hard as possible to get better. I may be a small goalie but I keep up with the bigger people and never back down from a play. I always try my hardest during games and practices, as well as off ice. I workout around 2-4 times a week and get on the ice as much as possible to train, as well.
I also play on my high schools hockey team and I am the only girl. My high school team, Lake Braddock/Parkview won the CSHL Championship for the first time in school history during my freshman season. I was on the All Academic team for the season and I ended my 2019-2020 school year with a 3.9 GPA. I consistently get solid A's in all classes in school, while still taking all honors and German as my language. I try to take a wide variety of electives to see what I am interested in. I work well with others, although at first I can be shy and quiet. I'm helpful and try my best to help others succeed, whether it be school, hockey, or anything in general. I work well with people no matter their background and I love being in diverse places. I am hardworking and willing to put in the effort to make myself better at hockey and a better overall person. I would be a good asset to your team because I'm kind and helpful and willing to do anything for my team. I keep up my grades and train as hard as possible and encourage my teammates to do the same.
I am looking for a college up north and that has a good architecture and/or psychology program. Thank you for reading and have a good day.
