Elle Peterson '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elle Peterson. I am a junior at Muskego High School.  Since I was a child I have always been driven to excel in all that I put my mind to, both academically and in sports.  

This is me in a nutshell: After seven years of training in martial arts, at the age of 11 years old, I earned an adult black belt in Kenpo Karate. I was one of the youngest people at my martial arts school to earn this honor. By the age of 14, I earned not only my first degree, but also my 2nd degree adult black belt in taekwondo and was a member of our schools' demonstration team. In 7th grade, weighing in at 60lbs and 4'9", I tried out for our middle school basketball team - and made it! It was a shock because I had never played basketball and was by far the shortest girl on the team. I didn't make the team due to my basketball knowledge or skillset , it was because I was coachable, determined, athletic and eager to learn. 

I started playing hockey at the age of nine and became the captain of each team that I played for over the years. I have not always been the best player on the team or the player that scores the most goals, but I did and do always play with tenacity, grit and dedication, not only to the game itself but to my teammates and coaching staff.

I continuously look to improve my skillset, my coachability, and my leadership as a player and teammate.  I take pride in always trying to better myself. I feel it is important to have balance between life experiences, sports and academics in order to grow as a person.

Academically, I am equally as driven and am looking to pursue a pre-med major with the ultimate goal of becoming a dermatologist.  

My aspiration is to be accepted into a University that offers a competitive hockey program, as well as a pre-med/science/biomedical degree.
