Hi, my name is Ivey and I play for the Madison Capitols AAA U19 Girls team. I started playing hockey when I was 6 years old and I am now 17 years old. I have never been the type to mess around during practice or not pay attention. I was and still am determined to always do everything 100% because I know if I don’t then I am just cheating myself. I love the game because it’s the fastest game in the world and it takes a lot of focus and using your head to play it. Building strong bonds and friendships is also something that I really appreciate about hockey. You need to have a strong relationship with someone to be able to play well with them and I am all about the team coming before myself. Because of this, I will always try and maintain healthy friendships and not get into any drama.
Something that I believe stands out about me is I will usually always volunteer to help the coach out with something or go first and show the team how a drill is done. When volunteering, I am not afraid to mess up or fail at a drill because I know if I do, I can just laugh it off and do it again, but even better the next time. Some of my strengths are my speed, vision, passing, keeping my head up, and my hockey sense. My strengths come in handy because they enable me to win foot races to the puck and make smart plays whether they be making a good pass at a crucial time or skating the puck when I should.
My parents are a big influence on me and have a strong impact on my competitiveness, along with my older sister. They push me to do my best all the time whether that means at hockey or in school. I strive to be a straight A student in school, but sometimes that is very hard. Even though it may be difficult, I will still always try and do my best. While in college, I will have the same goals even though classes will become even more difficult. I am still undecided about what I want to major in, but I do really enjoy psychology and writing. I want to be apart of a place where there is a nice community, I can contribute to the team, and be pushed to my absolute best all the time.
