My collegiate goal is to attend a high quality academic school that also matches up with my lacrosse skills. I am considering a major that would prepare me for a career in health care profession, or possibly political science and a career in public service.
My school, Santa Margarita Catholic High School, is recognized as one of the top academic high schools in Orange County, California. I have challenged myself with a rigorous schedule with many honors courses and AP/IB courses.
From an athletics perspective, I have played competitive sports since I was eight years old. I played for some of the top club soccer teams in Orange County, and in 2018 I was selected to play for a U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy team, the Pateadores. I started playing lacrosse in the 5th grade at school, and then I also joined club teams. What I love about lacrosse is that I can run up and down the field and score. (In soccer I had always been an outside defender or wing.) I stuck with lacrosse for the past eight years to the point where it became my primary sport. My high school's varsity team, which I have started for since my Freshman year, has been very competitive and highly ranked in each of my years. As a player, my top strengths are speed and suddenness in change of direction, my success in getting the ball in draw control, and scoring and assisting many goals with a direct and attacking style. I am naturally right handed, but am able to score with my left hand also, which you can see in my various highlight videos.
My goal when I joined NCSA was to find a great match where I can study at a top college and play lacrosse at my ability level, putting more weight in my decision on school over lacrosse, though I do see them both as important because sports create great camaraderie, friendships and help you be a better student by blowing off stress. I am proud that my performance in the classroom, on the lacrosse field, and in my extensive volunteerism has resulted in me being admitted to attend and play lacrosse at Smith College starting in the Fall of 2022.
