Corin Cramer '12 Recruiting Profile

"Lady Devils Hoo-Rah!" That chant may seem ritual, petty, or may have gone un-noticed to the people outside the team. If anyone knew the effort that was put into every practice, every suicide, every passing drill; they may have appreciated that adrenalin-filled moment as much as we did. Despite the many obstacles thats arise during the spring and winter seasons, the idea of growth is present. Whether it be running until movement is no longer a possibilty or staying up at all hours of the night to finish a project, much is learned. Before moving to Colorado I had never even heard of lacrosse. My cousin, the boys varsity goalie, pleaded with me to try this new sport. After days of contemplation I decided to give it a try. Thus, I started playing lacrosse my freshmen year at Eagle Valley High School. Although I had just moved to the area a few months before the season started, I was elected JV team captain and named MVP for the team. This previous season, 2011, I was voted Co-Captain along with 2 of my teammates. Coach said she was looking for 2 seniors and 1 junior who would "represent the team on and off the field." Young ladies who would "push themselves and motivate the others." After everyone made their decision we were notified the following practice. With this honor, I made it a priority to show the girls that I would give my all to the them and be available whenever a need of theirs were to arise. Throughout the random snowstorms and hot days that shortly followed, a thought, that developed my first year of playing, really sparked and I decided this is how I wanted to get to college. Why not do something I am compassionate about while learning about things of equal value to me? A question I ask myself all the time. As long as the school met my needs, I would go. A small-medium sized campus with programs such as Social Work, Psychology, and Behavorial Sciences would be ideal. Attending an institution like this would allow me to pursue my life goals, changing somebody's life or aid in the process of changing it themselves.
