I compete in a 7A school just north of Tampa Florida. This is a very competitive sports environment which I enjoy. I do not like drama on or off the field and desire only to play the sport to the best of my abilities.
Lacrosse
I have become a Lacrosse Defensive and Defensive Midfield specialist, and a backup Lacrosse Goalie. I have been playing year around for 3 years both high school and club (national USA Lacrosse tournaments). I average per game 8 blocked shots on goal, 3 take aways, and co-captain the defensive line for positioning and zone defense. As defending mid-fielder, I average 2 assists per game with 3 outlets and attacks. As a backup goalie, I have a 2.8:4 ratio of blocked shots to shots on goal taken in one-v-one match-up and 1 defender. Due to the type of current Lacrosse teams I participate, I play primarily as Defensive Specialist. I am looking for a team where I am a more active mid-fielder. However, I will play wherever my skills are best used for the team.
Mentality
I believe to be the best player in any sport requires humility to accept constructive criticism, passion for the sport, a competitive drive to win, and of course the physical skills to succeed in the fundamentals. There are practice players who do well during practice but struggle during games, and game players who struggle during practice but excel during game play. I am a game player because I believe that practice is where I push myself until I find what needs to be improved. The point of practicing is to get better, and I want to be the best I can be as a player. Game day is when I have fun and enjoy all the hard work for success. I measure my success based on my game play. My goal is to always play better and better from beginning of the game to the end. I know I will make mistakes, but my desire is to make the NEXT BEST decision and move on so that the team can succeed.
Academics
I am currently a dual enrollment student with a 3.9 GPA at Pasco Hernando State College (30 credits). I will be taking another 30 credits at Pasco Hernando State College my senior year (next year) as a full time college student. I know that I only have a few years of top athletic performance, and I have pushed my academics so that I have the flexibility to excel in both my sports and stay on track to be a top Reconstructive Surgeon.
