Hello Coach,
My name is Lindsey Angermeier and I am a Junior attending Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, FL during the 2021-22 school year. For the previous four years I attended Edgewood Jr/Sr High School in Merritt Island, FL. I am a 3-sport athlete playing basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball. Currently, I have a 3.72 GPA and am looking forward to advancing my academic and athletic abilities during my final two years in high school. Being involved with 3 sports has taught me how to be a team leader, a team player and enabled me to form great relationships with my coaches and teammates.
Lacrosse:
I played lacrosse for 4 years at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School earning a Varsity letter each of the 4 years. During my 10th grade year (20-21), I played the attack position and was a draw control specialist for the varsity team, helping the team to win the school’s first ever District Title and getting as far as the final eight in the state of Florida. I led the team with 58 goals and added 9 assists for the season scoring 19 goals in our 4 post season games. I won the team’s Most Improved Player Award and won the Florida Today/321 Preps.com Athlete of the Week Award for the week of March 1-6, 2021. During my 9th grade year (19-20), which was cut short due to Covid-19, I played the attack position for both the varsity and JV teams. For the varsity team I scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 3 games, while for JV I scored 13 goals and 6 assists in 4 games leading the team in both categories. I was the JV team captain and received the JV MVP award. During my 8th grade year (18-19) I played the attack position for both the varsity and JV teams. For the varsity team I scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 4 games, while for JV I scored 36 goals and 6 assists in 9 games leading the team in both categories. I was the JV team captain and received the JV MVP award. I have been playing club lacrosse for the past four years, the last two with Space Coast Yeti.
Basketball:
I have been playing basketball since the 1st grade and I am a 6’1" junior working hard to improve my game. In the last four years while playing at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School, I was a captain each year (Varsity 1 season, JV 2 seasons, Middle School 1 season). During my 10th grade year (20-21), I played the 3/4/5 positions for the varsity team averaging 10.3 points/game, 10.5 rebounds/game, and 2.6 blocks/game (team leader in each category). I won the Coaches Award for leadership and leading the team in scoring. I was also nominated three times for the Florida Today/321 Preps.com Athlete of the Week. During my 9th grade year (19-20), I played the 5 position for the JV team averaging 8.9 points/game, 7.8 rebounds/game, and 1.6 blocks/game. I received the Outstanding Offensive Player Award for leading the team in scoring. During my 8th grade year (18-19) I played the 5 position for the JV team and received the Outstanding Defensive Player Award. I have played club basketball for one season (2021) with Space Coast Fury.
Volleyball:
I have played volleyball for a total of 4 years. This fall at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, I was the starting middle blocker for the varsity team. I was second on the team in blocks and third in kills. At Edgewood Jr/Sr High School I played 3 seasons. For two years, 20-21 and 19-20, I was on the JV team playing the starting middle blocker. In 20-21, I was a captain and won the Outstanding Offensive Player Award. For the 18-19 year I was on the freshman team and was the starting middle blocker (no statistics were reported for all three Edgewood seasons).
Academics and Extracurriculars:
I was in the National Honor Society for the 20-21 school year. Prior to that I was in the National Junior Honor Society for two years. My GPA is 3.72 attained while taking mostly Honors and AP courses. For the past 5 years I volunteered at a summer Vacation Bible School. I have also volunteered at a local animal shelter and cat sit for multiple families. In was in the Girl Scouts for 7 years earning my bronze award.
Future Plans:
In college I’m leaning towards studying Sports Management, although I’m considering other fields as I continue through my high school curriculum. I am very interested to learn about your college academic fields, your coaching style, team atmosphere, and your recruiting process. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you,
Lindsey Angermeier
