My name is Sophie Sorenson, I have a 3.5 GPA and I have been on the honor roll each semester. I love to compete and have played many sports including basketball, softball, tennis and cross country, but have fallen in love with lacrosse and volleyball. I have been playing lacrosse for 7 years. I play for True 2019 National team and IL State Elite team for club and played on the Stevenson High School Varsity team as a Freshman and Sophomore, leading the team in nearly every statistical category this past year. In volleyball, I played club for Sky High in IL and led my high school team to a third place finish at state as a Sophomore. I have learned so many great skills through lacrosse and volleyball. I've learned the importance of teamwork and committing to the team's success vs individual success. Playing with older kids on my team has taught me the importance of leading by example and working hard. Learning how to handle adversity and dealing with group dynamics is definitely now one of my strengths. These experiences have given me a great deal of confidence in myself and in my skills. My education is also a very important aspect in my life and finding a school where I can compete athletically at a high level and get a great education is something I take very seriously.
