My collegiate goals and aspirations.
My collegiate goals are to play for a competitive lacrosse program that works hard along with having a very good academic program. I want to go to a school where I can explore new opportunities and challenges. I want to grow as a person and a player. My aspirations in life are to help others, to become a productive person in society and eventually use my knowledge of the game of lacrosse to teach children.
I am a good candidate for your team because of two reasons.
Number one:
- I’m hard working and I never give up. I have been playing lacrosse for more than 11 years now and there has been so many people in my life that have counted me out, told me I'm too small or that I will never make it. That never stopped me though and I kept working hard and by doing this I made the USA U15, Under Armour All-American and Brine National team among other select teams the past few years. And most importantly, I know the name on the front of my jersey is more important than the one on the back.
Number two:
- I'm an extremely smart player on the field when it comes to knowing where the ball should go and where it will end up. I’m a defender when it comes to lacrosse, but I also play as a point guard in basketball. By playing these two positions I am able to see everything that is happening on the field or court. This helps me talk to my team and tell them what plays they should run even before they think of it. Being smart on the field or court is the most key part of winning a game.
What makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics?
I am extremely quick on my feet. I am very encouraging and positive with my teammates. Even when we are down by a couple of goals I make sure everyone has their head up and keeps playing until the clock hits zero. I communicate a lot with my team but especially with my defense and goalie to make sure everyone is on the same page and doing their job. A big difference is my height, I am 5’2 which is not very common when you look for a defender. Though my quickness and speed make up for my lack of height. When it comes to academics, I balance my schoolwork along with my sports, and friends very well. I work extremely hard for my grades and that has helped me reach an overall GPA of 3.6 (as of Spring 2020) and other goals that I have set for myself.
