I ran track for many years, both for an AAU team and my high school. I wanted to try another sport that I knew would challenge me but allow me to also have fun. My sophomore year of high school was my first year playing lacrosse and I was fortunate to make the junior varsity team. Before then I had no prior knowledge of the sport, but I was able to pick up on the rules of the game pretty quickly. I made an effort each practice and game to make myself stand out to the coaches. I found a position that I felt I was best suited for (defense) and ran with it. After the first couple of games my coaches started taking notice in me and what I was capable of. They gave me the opportunity to play in many varsity games, I even became a starter and was awarded the MVP award at the end of the season. My track background helped when it came to being a midfielder. I feel as though I am a great candidate for any team because I am very cooperative and coachable. I can take directions pretty easily while applying corrections given. Things in my character that set me apart from other recruiters include not being afraid to ask questions to improve my performance skills and uplifting those around me by bringing positive energy to practices and games. I am invloved in musical theatre, choir, and varsity cheer while maintaining a high GPA, all of which displays flexibility. I would like to attend a college that will challenge me while helping me grow and develop my skills within the sport and socially.
