Hi my name is Mary and I am a junior at Auburn High School I'm Auburn, NY. I began playing lacrosse when I was in kindergarten, as my aunt was a coach at a local high school. As a 2nd grader I played on our schools 3rd/4th grade ULA (Upstate Lacrosse Association) team. During my younger years I played in all the positions on the field including goalie. I have also attended camps through several area colleges such as Hobart William Smith, Lemoyne College, Onondaga Community College and Syracuse University with Gary Gait. In 8th grade I was slated to play on our JV lacrosse team but Covid hit and we didn't have a season. With sport up in the air through school I decided to join a club team, Platform Academy, with coach Alyssa Long to have a little extra time on the field. As a freshman I was pulled up to play sectionals with our varsity team, where we won sectionals. I continued playing with my club team through summer and then we transitioned to a new club, Orange Crush 2024, with our coach. Along with playing lacrosse I played JV soccer as a 7th and 8th grader. I have also played varsity volleyball for the last 2 years.
I currently take enriched and AP classes in school. I am ranked 24 out of 340 students and make school one of my top priorities. My current gpa is 4.0.
I am looking to study biology and forensics in college where I would like to continue to play lacrosse. I feel like I am a versatile player who can see the field and know what I need to do to make the next best possible move. I am a team player who wants to work with everyone to help the team do well and accomplish our goals. I love feedback from my coaches to help me improve my game and always try my best to put that feedback into action the next time I'm in the field.
