Shania Roehrich '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Shania Roehrich and I am currently a class 2019 member at The Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York.  I am an academically strong, community helpful, three sport athlete looking to make my dream of playing lacrosse in college come true.  I am fast, a team player, aggressive, and coachable.  I am a strong midfielder that can step up to any task whether it is on the draw or on the draw circle.  I have exceptional stick skills with both my right and left hand.  During the 2016 and 2017 seasons at my high school, I earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award.

As much as I love to play lacrosse, academics must come first.  I am looking for a strong academic program of which I can challenge myself.  I am looking to go into a Biology major for I would one day like to be a Veterinarian.  I have always been an honor roll student.  I also received the Sojourner Truth Award for Citizenship in 2015.     

Community Service and volunteering have been a big part of my life.  I am a Girl Scout who works to better my community and help others in need.  I have completed my Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards, the third and second highest honor in Girl Scouts, by volunteering at the Goshen Food Pantry and beautifying the grounds at a local animal shelter, Pets Alive.  In Girl Scouts, I have taught younger girl scout troops about bullying, made pillows for children at Marie Fareri Children's Hospital, volunteered for the Wounded Warrior Project at West Point, picked up trash along local trails, going to the Senior Center to sing Christmas Carols for them during the Holidays, and many more.  

Lacrosse has built me into the hard-working, determined, energetic young lady I am today.  I hope I am a good fit for your program.
