I would like to continue my lacrosse career in college because I believe the discipline and structure of team play will only help me be a better student as I have always balanced sports with academics. In addition to lacrosse and volleyball, I played softball for my town for seven years. My team advanced to the State Championship in 2019 and I was given the Franklin Square Little League Sportsmanship Award that same year.
I started playing lacrosse eight years ago for the local PAL team. I continued playing in junior high school and was moved up to junior varsity in the 8th grade as a starter. In 10th grade I was made the junior varsity team captain and played 100% of each game. In addition, I was added to the varsity roster and played and contributed in each of the games I was invited to. I am now a junior and a starter on the varsity team.
Playing lacrosse gives me a level of confidence I don't always have off the field. No matter who my opponent is I never consider my size or whether or not they may be more skilled than I am. I just play as hard as I can to help my team win.
