Sports have been a huge part of my life. I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and continue to play. I also played softball and basketball. I became interested in lacrosse in third grade. One of my softball coaches had a daughter that played and he saw how fast I was and said “you should be playing lacrosse”. So in the Winter of 3rd grade I tried lacrosse and loved the sport ever since. I remember being nervous because all of the other girls were so much better than me. They had a lacrosse stick in their hands since they were preschoolers. They could all pass and catch and even switch hands. I was 3 to 4 years behind them. I knew I had to catch up quickly. My Dad bought me a goal and a bounce back for our back yard. I was out there all the time. I worked really hard during my youth lacrosse years. I joined an elite lacrosse club in fifth grade called Monster. This changed my game immensely. I noticed a big change after the first year playing on my club team. Suddenly, I was one of the better players in my grade. My skill level surpassed a lot of the girls that I thought were so much better than me.
Although, I was extremely athletic, people always doubted my lacrosse skills. This made me stronger. I wanted to prove them all wrong. Things suddenly changed in 8th grade when I made the Junior Varsity team at my High School. Lacrosse is a highly competitive sport at my school so making the Junior Varsity team in 8th grade was a huge accomplishment. The following year, in ninth grade, I made the Varsity team and started in 5 games. I overcame the challenge of people doubting my skills. Working hard and putting the time in has been a continuous goal for me.
My lacrosse accolades include being chosen for the Under Armour Upstate 2019 Command team as well as being selected to the Under Armour 150. My 2022 Monster Elite Lacrosse club team is currently the # 1 ranked 2022 club team in the US and has won several championships over the past couple of years including: Lax for Cure Championship (2018, which put us at #1 in the nation), Mid-Atlantic Championship (2018), Lake Placid Classic Championship (2018), Club National Championship (2017) and Harvard Champions (2017).
I challenge myself to get better at lacrosse the same way I challenge myself academically in school, by taking honors classes and advance placement classes. I maintain a 96-97 GPA along with playing lacrosse and soccer year round. I believe a strong work ethic will get you where you want to be in life. Being part of a highly competitive club lacrosse team has made me work harder and realize you can never stop working. Someone is always there trying to take your spot.
I volunteer my time helping to coach youth lacrosse as well as being involved in various clubs at school that involve leadership and community service activities. I am hard working and realize things do not come easy in life.
Sports have always been a part of my life. Playing on a team has taught me how to be confident and disciplined. It has helped me work well with others as well as manage my time successfully. Sports have instilled qualities in me that will make me successful in the future across all areas of my life. My goal is to play Division 1 Lacrosse by attending a college that will allow me to challenge myself academically and on the lacrosse field.
