My sense of humility and willingness to learn this game while increasing my performance on and off the field is what makes me a highly coachable player. I am comfortable with both sides of my stick even when transitioning between Attack, Midfield, and Defense if needed. I also have pride in being a member of a team. I can be a leader when needed and find importance in listening to my teammates as we work together to achieve a common goal.
I believe that being an academically strong student compliments being a strong athlete. You cannot have one without the other. To become a well-rounded student athlete, I knew I needed to make some changes and so I set goals for myself. One of those goals was to become a scholar athlete. I did this by maintaining a 3.8 GPA throughout the year while completing several college courses at the community college towards my degree in Nursing. I also became a Certified Nurse Aide during this time. Another goal of mine was to sharpen my knowledge of the game. I decided that by becoming a USA Lacrosse Junior Official I would not only give back to the game I love and inspire other young girls to do the same but also to provide me with the ability to see the game through a different lens.
I take pride in the work I do on and off the field. During the pandemic I paid particular attention to the work being done through the One Love Foundation and their mission to educate young people about healthy relationships. I attended a few of their workshops and ultimately decided to become a Teen Ambassador to bring this education to my community. I am also a member of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and have learned about the need for more healthcare professionals.
Being a member of the lacrosse community is how I have been able to accomplish many things in my life thus far. I am looking forward to the next chapter in hopes of playing at the next level. I will always be grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and experiences the game of lacrosse has afforded me.
