After tearing my left AND right ACLs, right in 7th grade playing volleyball and left playing lacrosse freshman year, I really started to find interest in the goalie position of lacrosse. The passion I have for lacrosse is beyond comparison because I have had it taken away from me. The second nine month recovery was different from my first time. I did not only learn patience, but I learned to fight for what you want. I believe I had to fight for every step of the way with my last recovery. This has made me the fighter you may see in the game. This isn't the end of the story. Coming out of a nine month recovery, I fought for the starting spot on Varsity having never played goalie. Even though these injuries have led me to this position, I do not play goalie to protect my knees. I have fallen in love with goalie, the last line of defense. My favorite part of the game is when it's me versus you. My confidence is evident in the crease. I truly believe that I am better than any person trying to score on me. I would say my greatest asset is my work ethic. Having to come back from a long recovery, and having the drive to start Varsity is a big command. My work ethic was the reason I earned that spot the first game. With my work ethic, I am able to become better than the goalie ahead of me in stats. I truly see the benefits of going home after practice, and working on new drills. This is evident in my school work and training. I was second team all conference and honorable mention in the state of Ohio as a sophomore. Now I would like to play a crucial part in helping my team win the state tournament, and as a personal goal, I would like to be first team all conference junior and senior year. With that in mind, I would love to continue my goalie career in college. The discipline required to be a student athlete at the next level will help me obtain my career goal of being a physical therapist.
