My name is Lily Berger and I am a 5’4’’ freshman lacrosse player from Columbus, Ohio. I have been playing lacrosse for 5 years now and have played travel lacrosse for 4 of them. Now that I have started my high school lacrosse career, I am one of only two freshman to have made the varsity lacrosse team, the only freshman starter. I finished my freshman year as the leading goal scorer on my high school team, and also being selected for both the US Lacrosse National Women's Tournament (May 23-24) and the Brine National Lacrosse Classic. At the end of the season, I won my team's Hustle Your Buns award (player with the most "hustle"), was voted 1st team all CCL, 2nd team all CIL, Academic All League and Academic All-Ohio awards. I also just recently received an invitation to and will attend the Northstar Invitational in Lake Placid, NY this summer. Throughout my middle school lacrosse career I received the Coach’s Award and I received the Hustle Your Buns award (player with the most “hustle”) 2 years in row. In 7th and 8th grade I was the leading goal scorer and I had the most assists.
I was the only freshman to have made the varsity field hockey team, also as a starter. I finished that season with the most goals, the most assists and the most shots on goal. I also play the highest level girls hockey. I play for the Tier One AAA Lady Blue Jackets, and have spent most of the last winters traveling the country playing other Tier One teams from across the country. As a 14 year old, I just tried out for and made the U19 AAA Lady Blue Jackets for the 2015-2016 season.
Although I have played a lot of sports at their highest levels and have excelled in a lot of them, my love is truly lacrosse. If I am not otherwise occupied with homework you can find me outside shooting on my rebound net and regular net until it gets too dark outside to see. Although I live in Ohio, I am looking to make a change and reach out to schools on the east or west coasts. I am looking to play lacrosse at its highest level. I have played high level sports all my life. I know what it takes to work for a position, and I am willing to put in the effort for my spot on any team.
