I played a number of different sports growing up, but when I started playing lacrosse I knew this was a sport I wanted to excel in. I love everything about this sport and my goal is to be able to play at a college that supports both my academic and athletic growth. I think the biggest thing I bring to my team is my leadership and determination. I believe my love of the game and my teammates is easy to see in how I play. I also am not only a team player on the field, but bring that sense of support off the field with my constant encouragement of my teammates in ever facet of their lives.
I have been playing lacrosse for 7 years and I am a member of my school's varsity team. I have also been ski racing from a young age and am on my school's varsity team, placing in the top 10 for our league the past two years. I am co-president of my school's Green Team, which is our environmental sustainability club. I also enjoy volunteering at Bustin’ Barriers, an organization that helps kids with disabilities get involved in sports. In addition, I work with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office as a volunteer Search and Rescue member, and am a lacrosse coach for younger girls through my club team, 3D. This Fall, I have also been asked to be 3D's social media intern. These activities and sports have helped me learn to balance my schedule with my school's rigorous academics, to grow in character, and have taught me the most important lessons in life about who I want to be as a person. I hope by playing lacrosse in college, I am able to continue learning through my teammates and coaches, and have that sense of team community that I have been so fortunate to enjoy in high school.
