I have played lacrosse since I was 10 years old. Prior to my introduction to lacrosse, I was not much into sports but since I picked up that fist stick I have been hooked! Not only do I play lacrosse but throughout my middles school years and into high school I challenge myself by signing up for any sport I can. During this time I have played football, basketball, soccer, track and now I even wrestle at a varsity level in high school.
Lacrosse opened up a whole new world of competitiveness and striving to be the best I can be every time I walk on a field, court or Mat. However, no other sport gets me more pumped up than stepping on to the lacrosse field. No matter if I am strapping on the helmet to get in goal or lacing up the cleats to go out into the field, I want to be the best and push our team to be the best.
On the field, I am tough and do not back down from anyone. I feel that any loose ball is mine and do what I need to do to get there. I am a vocal leader on the field and also try to keep everyone loose. I very much appreciate suggestions and criticisms regarding a weakness so that I can take that feedback and turn those weaknesses into strengths. Without feedback, you can’t expect to get any better. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players on the field.
My biggest strength is probably my versatility. Although, I have spent the previous 3 years in goal, I also can play defense and midfield at a high level. During my freshman year I was a varsity starter on defense while playing goalie for the JV squad. I have also played all 3 positions for my club team. I have the ability to play anywhere on the field and excel in that position.
Although I am small in stature, I am big in heart and drive. I have been scrimmaging alongside the high school girls and participate in clinics at the high school level even in middle school so I am accustomed to facing taller and older girls. Playing against the older girls throughout my lacrosse career has removed the any fear or hesitation when going against bigger girls and have learned to use my size and quickness as an advantage.
I am engaged during class and the majority of my core classes are in the advanced placement program. I take my studies seriously and understand that through hard work in school I will afford myself many opportunities in college and my professional life.
I wish to attend a college where I will be challenged to excel both in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. I am looking for the right fit, both academically and on the lacrosse field but am open to any area of the country that will give me the best chance to succeed. I guarantee wherever I end up playing that I will work as hard as or harder than anyone on the field.
