Hi, My names is Mariela Perez, I’m an out going person, that loves meeting new people, love making friends is something so easy for me to do because I have a different personality than others and I love it because I don’t need to worry about what other's think about me.
I’m the oldest out of four siblings, my family and I come from Chile, we were all born there, we move here to the United States, Utah about 4 years ago, my parents decided to move here for a better future for us, they knew that our life’s we’re going to be so much better, with the opportunity to speak both English and Spanish.
Our experience is been an amazing time, like everyone we had our ups and down, but those ups and downs makes us who we are right now. When we move here I stopped playing sports, for a few months, but my freshman year in high school, my friends decided to participate on a lacrosse practice, they invited me to watch, and I did the sport look so different from all the others sports that I played before, it got my attention I went to my P.E locker room, I changed so fast, because I wanted to practice and learn. I fell in love with the sport, that I decide to find a job, and save money to pay for it, I wasn’t going to make my parents pay for lacrosse.
Lacrosse made me change my whole life, my parents say that since I started to play lacrosse I’m more happy, I grew a lot of responsibility and became a stronger person, I can communicate better not just with my teammates but with the rest of the people, I work so much better with others, when before I would do all the work by my self. I know I have a team that I needs me and I can’t be selfish, lacrosse can be a sport but for me is more than that, is how I learned how to have a balance in my life, I see lacrosse in a way to express my self, with my teammates and coaches.
Since I was little I wanted to graduate and go to college and now that this time of my life is coming really soon, I can’t to have the opportunity to study something that I love, get a degree on it and help others with what I studied.
Thank you so much for reading this and getting to know me a little bet better.
