For those things I am passionate about in life, I set out a path to go above and beyond to achieve my goals. Whether it is lacrosse, engineering, or art, I don’t stop at the set course., I set additional goals and plans to help me continually improve. For lacrosse, I’ve been challenged over the past year with COVID ending our season early and limiting our ability to have practices. Because I want to improve, I’ve established a running and strength training program, and been organizing practices and drills with teammates. Through the support and influence of my family, teachers, coaches, and teammates, I’ve been able to persevere through injuries, dedicate myself to everything I try, and most of all I’ve learned to communicate and ask for help in achieving my goals. For example, when I had surgery on my feet, my family helped me heal and grow not only as an athlete but as a person. I learned to communicate better and to not give up even when it was painful and frustrating. I came out of that experience stronger, and more determined to return to sports.
To achieve my goal of finishing the rest of my high school career with a 4.0 GPA, I’ve reached out for help, built better relationships with my teachers, and established a support network with my peers so that we can help each other. This will help me achieve my goal of getting into a college that allows me to pursue a double major in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering so that I can become a Mechatronic Engineer to design and build robots. I’ve participated in the Robotics club through my school, winning an Award of Excellence, and during my participation in the Washington State Technology Students Association, I placed 5th in Coding and 3rd in Leadership Strategies. I’m excited to set and surpass my new academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level.
