Tessa Geurink '18 Recruiting Profile

I am proud to say that my coaches have told me that I have one of the best attitudes with which they have ever worked, as well as an incredible work ethic. I also feel grateful that I've been told I am a natural athlete. I've been blessed to excel at several different sports in my Division 1 high school: track (sprinter - lettered), alpine skiing (lettered - favorite race is GS), volleyball (left hitter), lacrosse and weight lifting club. Early on, I discovered that investing time in the weight room paid off in all of my sports. I work hard to be strong - I currently hold the women's all-time squat record (295 Lbs), clean-lift record (175 lbs) and dead-lift record (300 lbs) at my high school. Outside of school, I am also a competitive horse barrel-racer (2 time State winner).  

I love all of these sports; however, now that I've discovered lacrosse I am so passionate about the sport, that I am willing to scale back on my other sports to play lacrosse full time. I LOVE LACROSSE! I think I was made for this game; I think the game was made for me:)! I came to the game a little late, but despite this, I am grateful that I'm seeing a lot of action. There are many girls on my team with more experience, but I've been blessed to be a starter and get a good deal of time on the field. I see lacrosse in my future for as long as I can find a way to play! Over the summer, I continued to grow my lacrosse skills 4-5 times / week by playing wall-ball, working on ground balls and playing catch. I was also blessed to get to play in a tournament with a summer girls lacrosse league located three hours from my home. This fall, I've been travelling 2 1/2 hours each week to play and practice with a club team; I've learned so much! I am committed to make up for lost time and become the best lacrosse player that I can!

My dedication to excel, win, be teachable and to become the absolute best athlete I can, while challenging and encouraging my teammates is what makes me the ideal candidate to be your next great investment!
