Eliana Maheo '20 Recruiting Profile

I joined rowing a year ago and have learned so much participating in this amazing sport. Previously, I danced and did gymnastics but eventually looked for a sport where my height would be an asset as opposed to a liability. I am a very determined person, when I commit to something I give it 100% whether it be rowing or school.  I enjoy the rigor that the sport demands. I set very high goals for myself and will do whatever it takes to achieve them. 

In college my main goal is to continue to improve as both a rower and a person. Even though I haven’t been rowing for very long, it has become such an integral part of my life and I often find that all of my past actions have led me to where I am today. One example of this is in violin where it is extremely important to stay in time and follow the tempos of the “stroke” of the orchestra which have helped me to perform both better as a musician and as a rower. I cannot wait to continue my journey in college!
