Awards and Activities

  • AwardsHonors with Distinction 2020/2021 Honors with Distinction 2019/2020 National French Honor Society Member (21) AP U.S. History Award Recipient (21) U.S. Presidential Award for academic excellence National French Contest Award Recipient 2021/2022 Vice President, Student Council. Re-elected May 2021 CAMPAIGN VIDEO Created Power Bank & Cord Sharing Program with Branding & Operating Guidelines and Social Media Channels for Continuous Student-Only Communications. Since 2014, I have advocated and found sponsors successfully for multiple mini-libraries & soft seating areas in classrooms. I have successfully changed several policies to improve the student experience on campus. In 2018, my speech inspired 7 other students to run for student council the following year.
  • ActivitiesSERVICE: 80+ HOURS PER YEAR since 2008 helping the Chicago community Serving food to homeless, making blankets for homeless, folding laundry for Misericordia Home. Climb the Aon every year since 2010 to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago, IL CLUBS: Active member of: BIPOC panels & discussions, French Club, Varsity Crew Team Events Support, Business & Economics Club, Medical Club, GSTEM, VOW, Alpha Athletics, French Honor Society and National Honor Society. MODEL UN: St Ignatius Model UN (SIMUN) competes in 10+ conferences per year in cities around the country (NYC, Boston, D.C., Berkeley). I have been an Active Model UN Delegate and Multiple Conference Delegate Award Winner since 2019 and a Chair for the largest Model UN High School Conference in the U.S. (over 1,000 HS delegates). SPECIAL PROJECTS: LAUNCHING A BROADCASTING NETWORK: Created a proposal inspired by several live streamed Regattas and learning that the broadcaster owned our video and content. The proposal was approved and St. Ignatius College Prep will move forward with creating a broadcast network. TURN UP TURN-ABOUT DANCE: Proposed a new strategy (group date) to attend the annual Turn-About dance with classmates that you would otherwise not meet. My idea is to use an algorithm to create diverse group dates that have the highest probability for making new connections with classmates. Putting ourselves in a position to meet more people unlike us helps to keep us away from the “us” versus them” and “right versus wrong” thinking patterns.
