After playing soccer for 10 years, I decided to sign up for a Learn to Row camp. My dad rowed in college and enjoyed it so I decided to try it out. I absolutely loved it and in the spring of my freshman year I joined Capital Rowing Club (Juniors). Since then I have been rowing year-round with them for 3 years. I scull and sweep (both sides). I compete at multiple local and regional regattas such as Head of the Schuylkill and the Occoquan Chase.
Additionally, I volunteer at my boathouse with the Capital Adaptive Rowing Program (CARP). This program is for people with disabilities and I spent my 2022 summer assisting them: helping set up boats; helping the athletes into boats; and bowing with them. I recieved over 100 service hours with them and have continued helping them set up ergs in the winter. I also traveled with them to the Bayada Regatta, the largest regatta for adaptive athletes, and cheered them on.
