I have been rowing since the fall of my freshman year, which amounts to 5 seasons now. I am a leader on my team and other rowers feel comfortable coming to me for advice or when they just need to talk. I am a very positive person and lead by example for my team because I believe that better rowing happens when people are excited and want to row. I am a hardworking rower and athlete; during the winter off-season I play hockey and I consistently work out in the gym throughout the year. I am very open to as much feedback and advice can be given to me and I really appreciate when my coaches critique me because I get better with every critique made.
Academically I work very hard to sustain and improve my 3.8 GPA and my 21 of 462 class rank. I participate in all of my classes and am not afraid to ask the questions I need to in order to increase my understanding of the subject. I am very good at managing my time so that I can go through my busy schedule, finish my school work, and manage to get the sleep I need to get stronger.
Outside of school and crew I coach two hockey teams for children ages five to nine and I also teach people of all ages how to skate.
I would like a school where I am able to challenge myself academically and athletically. Although I am not certain of what I would major in, but I am currently exploring the options like Business Economics and Child Development.
