At North Rockland Highschool, I am a driven student-athlete that works hard to continuously maintain A's in various AP classes throughout both my varsity swim and varsity rowing athletic seasons. I first discovered crew my freshman year, and it was a shock to learn just how rigorous this sport could be, especially when balanced on top of swimming right after it. However, the camaraderie of the sport and my drastic improvements both with the erg and in the water kept me hooked and eventually sparked a strong passion within me. Before I even realized it, I would find myself assisting in recruiting for our small team, providing endless amounts of advice for new members, helping to organize a winter program (a pre-pre-season) for our rowers, and contributing personal time to help get the boats ready way before it was even time to use them. Crew has not only been valuable in making me a stronger athlete, but it has showed me the importance of community in leadership.
