I just switched over from year round swimming to rowing in the Fall 2021. My dad (who rowed in college) had suggested it, but the pandemic had delayed learn to row until last summer. So I just discovered the sport as a junior. Still learning a lot but I love it and would like to carry that into college.
I stroked all the novice head races in the Fall, worked hard in winter, and joined the varsity this spring for sprints. I was often stroke on varsity as well, but switched to bowing the 4x at Dogwood, and the 4- at Nationals. At SE Regionals, I raced in the 4-, in bow where we took the bronze medal and qualified for Nationals. At Nationals, we finished 16th overall.
I’ve been chosen to be a co-captain for our 2022-2023 season.
I am attending USRowing U19 Olympic Development Program in June in Sarasota, FL. The remainder of my summer will be spent training (erging and lifting) and reaching out to and visiting programs.
