Hello coaches,
My name is Amaya Santacruz and I am a dual-credit student (senior) at Ischool High The Woodlands. I have been rowing for around a year and a half now, and being in this sport has taught me many lessons. For instance, trying your best even when you feel like giving up as well as learning how to be a good teammate. Rowing has allowed me to make new friends and really understand what it means to be a teammate and an overall better person, inside and outside of rowing. Beyond athletics, my strong work ethic carries on into my academics. I take dual credit classes at Lone-Star College and am in the Honors College, challenging myself academically is something that teaches me to do my best and always work hard to reach my goals. While taking rigorous courses and being a student-athlete, I have acquired the skill of effective time management. Not only does this benefit me now but it will continue to help me when rowing in college.
