Looking back at my high school experience, I have realized one thing that has connected my past 4 years. Leadership. Whether it be through my willingness to be co captain of the Utah Crew rowing team through the beginning of the COVID years, my position as secretary for Granite Mountain FFA ( a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education). I recently signed up to be a “RISE Ambassador” a position at my high school that helps students feel more connected to one another through activity’s and kind gestures.
During the last three summers I also committed to rowing by joining the Daytona Beach summer rowing camp, adn the last summers with Three Rivers, where I earned a spot on their adult Coxing rotation.
I have learned through these experiences what it takes to be an effective leader. In all these positions I had to be able to put the group before my own needs, coordinate plans with many schedules and people and communicate effectively. I would love to transfer those skills into being a coxswain for your team. Together I would love to Cox your boats to their next wins.
