My name is Carson Head and I currently live in Chugiak Alaska. Growing up in a military family we moved around a lot, which helped me to learn how to adapt and be flexible. I have been lucky to call Alaska home for a major part of my life. I started playing soccer at 5 years old in Spokane Washington. It started as pure love for the game and nothing has since changed. I've always been a very competitive athlete, I want to play to the best of my abilities at all times. I have this drive to be the best and I am willing to put in the work to get there. I've been playing soccer for 11 years and competitively for 5 of those years. I like to surround myself with a very high intensity environment for that extra push to excel my skills further. In that drive for excellence I've played with 3 different competitive teams. I'm always searching for harder practices and different coaching styles that can further my development as a player. I have moved from Chugiak Soccer Club, to Alaska Rush, to my current team Cook Inlet Soccer Club. I have been blessed to of had multiple unique coaching styles with 8 different club coaches, and I've learned a lot from every one of them. I've also been able to travel a lot in my soccer career which I owe entirely to my parents, as it is very important to travel when living so far north. In November of 2013 I was asked to guest play with Wisconsin Rush in Las Vegas which was a fantastic experience. I've also traveled with my State ODP team to different tournaments including ODP championships. ODP really exposed me to some of the best players in the nation and showed me my competition. Bringing it back to my state, In 2015 I was named on the Alaska All State Soccer Team for U16 age division. I played on my High School's Varsity Soccer team my freshman, sophomore and junior year. I was given MVP attacker as a freshmen and was leading in goals scored for my team. My junior year I received the award of overall MVP. As a Sophomore and Junior, I was named Team Captain of my High School soccer team. In my leadership role, I encourage, inspire and mentor my teammates. Although Soccer is my main sport, I also play other sports, like flag football which I've been playing for about 5 years. My freshmen, sophomore and junior year I made my High School varsity team. My first two years I received MVP defense. My junior year I recieved overall MVP for flag football. My sophomore and Junior year I also made my state all conference team. Of which included Alaska's All Conference offense team and I was Alaska's All Conference and State kicker for flag football. I try to involve myself in many different sports and clubs. As a student athlete, I plan to pursue a doctorate in Physical Therapy. Maintaining a high GPA and student involvement is at the top of my priority's. I'm involved in Key Club, International Club, World Discovery Seminar and Peer teaching. As a Junior, I was a team Captain of my Flag Football Team and we just won State Championship. My school hasn't won since 2008, so that was an exciting achievement for my team and school. I'm also in student government and take AP classes. I am so grateful to have experienced everything I have so far, and I can't wait for what's to come.
