I am a resilient, determined, well-rounded student-athlete leader that encourages positive change. I did not have the athletic advantage of playing consistently with the same club soccer team all of my youth, as I am the daughter of a Navy SEAL, in which moving and constant change has been part of my life. However, I have gained much resiliency, leadership, and confidence that add value to me not just as an athlete but as a person. With every military transfer, I learned to adapt to and enjoy the challenges that came with new environments, extreme temperature changes, cultures, peer groups, soccer teams, coaches, and programs. Being the newcomer I had to continually prove myself on and off the field whether with an all-girls team or co-ed team. By having good sportsmanship, being coachable, maintaining a positive mental attitude, and having the ability to assimilate into new communities, I earned a great reputation with my teammates, coaches, soccer associations, and sponsors. My adaptability, usefulness, integrity, and inclusive leadership truly set me apart from other athletes.
On the pitch, my coaches identify me as a valuable goalie that excels in goal kicks, punts, back passes and thru balls, shot-stopping, and decision-making when dealing with high balls and they appreciate that I read the game and am very vocal on the field to help organize and direct my teammates. I command my box and space behind my defensive backline by being both agile and fearless to cover my goal and box which has earned me two All-Conference, first-team selection awards. My inclusive, leave no one behind leadership, commitment to team and game, my ability to lead with confidence in difficult circumstances along with my stats earned me the honor to receive the title of Captain to lead my team.
I do my best to stay competitive and conditioned for soccer while maintaining good grades, enjoying hiking and paddleboarding, as well as serving my community. I have found great joy in serving my community in various ways. While stationed in Guam I served food to community members a few Sundays every month at a local fellowship hall, and here in rural Alaska, I helped break barriers on the high school cheerleading team by helping to create a program for special education students that enabled the students to do modified stunting, sideline cheering, and halftime shows. Perseverance, time management, being flexible, and giving back to the community are essential to overall success. My unique life experiences of living overseas, in rural areas of Alaska, and in busy cities in the U.S. have influenced my strong inclusive and encouraging leadership, as well as my ease, excitement, and willingness to try new things.
I would love to play soccer in college while earning a degree in operational aviation, aviation business management, engineering, international business, or homeland security. My overall goal is to fly rotary-wing aircraft, specifically the H60 for humanitarian missions. I am looking forward to discussing with you how I may be a good fit for your program.
