Hi, my name is Anne(or Annie) Britschgi and I’m a senior at Holtville High School in Holtville California. As a multi-sport athlete I would love the opportunity to continue expanding my skills both on and off the field. This experience made me want to reach out to my community through 4-H and help kids ages 5-11 grow as a player and a person.
I have always been the player to give her all during a game no matter the circumstances and every time I get knocked down I got back up, same goes for when I’m injured, I always got back on the field ASAP because sports are how I express myself and it’s my escape from all the drama of high school and family issues, because sports were there for me when nobody else was.
Unfortunately, my sophomore year I dislocated my kneecap during a game against Southwest, mid-season. I wasn’t out for very long with this injury and I attended physical therapy to strengthen it back up and I was on the field in two weeks. My junior year was a little more difficult, I dislocated my elbow one game before CIF and was unable to play the CIF game, and was only allowed to be an “injured player” for softball, meaning I was on the team but until I was cleared I couldn’t play. But that doesn’t stop me from becoming a stronger athlete, I am now on the varsity football team as a kicker and have learned so much that I can take with me into soccer season.
