Most people spend their whole lives in search of something they are passionate about, one thing that they instinctively set apart from the rest. I am both grateful and blessed to have had the opportunity to be able to find and pursue my passion from a very young age. Beginning at the age of six and playing recreational soccer, I then transitioned over to the club level to further develop myself as a player. As I began my soccer journey I had no idea how much soccer would impact my life. I still remember when my club coach asked me to write a letter addressing soccer itself. It was then when I noticed just how much soccer had shaped me not just as a player, but as a person as a whole.
Up to this day the best advice I have ever heard was to stop focusing on what I need to do, but instead who I need to be in order to achieve my goals. Soccer has showed me just that. Soccer has taught me to be resilient. Soccer has given me courage, perseverance, grit, and so much more. Through soccer I have learned the value of teamwork and work ethic, how to push myself far beyond the point where my mind tells me I’m incapable. By no means am I through developing myself as a person and as a player, and probably never will be. Each day I strive to better myself and every opportunity I have to step out on that field is a blessing. Each time I remind myself that I am not playing for myself. I am playing for my faith, I am playing for my team, and I am playing for my love of the game. Soccer allows me to set goals, and once those goals are achieved, set new ones. One phrase that I have always valued is, “its not the time you put in, but what you put into the time.” I am constantly eager to not just play with intensity, but train with intensity while broadening my knowledge of the game. I would love the opportunity to play at the next level and pursue a career in engineering. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Respectfully,
