I have a passion for soccer that dates back to the first time I stepped on the field at 5 years old. I am happiest and most fulfilled when I am playing the sport I love. Although I have played most positions on the field, including wing, forward, and defensive back, I am in my element when I play midfield. I see the field and enjoy being a decision and play maker. I have the opportunity to play both defensively and offensively. I enjoy the team aspect of the game....strategically working together toward a common goal and EVERYONE plays a part! I have developed many amazing relationships and friendships through my team experiences as a result. I have a clear sense of what needs to be done with the ball and have the ability to act quickly AND calmly to execute a play. In addition, my competitive nature and tough skin are evident when I’m on the field!
I want to carry my passion for soccer and how it has helped me grow and develop into college, and I am confident that my skill, hard work, and commitment will help me get there. I would say my most significant strengths are my field awareness and ability to make quick decisions with the ball. My passing skills and touch on the ball are also strong. I am right foot dominant but am fierce with my left foot as well when passing or shooting. I emerge as a team leader and try to set an example for the rest of my teammates about the importance of working together toward a common goal.
I have been a starter on my Varsity team at Mount Pisgah Christian School since my Freshman year and have played almost every minute of every game. Despite playing primarily defensive midfield, I scored 18 goals last year, second only slightly to our forward. When earning the opportunity to play Development Academy for the 2019/2020 season, I made the decision to sacrifice playing Varsity. I want to continue to grow as a player and individual so that I am equipped to play at a competitive college level and believe that playing at the higher DA level will be the best way to achieve my goal.
With a 3.9/4.0 weighted GPA, I am extremely focused on my academics and know the importance of a good education to ensure a bright future. Math and science are my strongest subjects, and I have an interest in possibly combining those strengths with my love for soccer and sports going forward. I am intrigued by sports medicine and exercise science. My curiosity and love for "figuring things out" have peaked my interest in forensic science too.
