Personal Statement

The family joke starts out this way...In kindergarten, decked out in my adorable cheer uniform, my Mom drove through the park on the way to my debut football game. To the left of the football field was a bunch of kids my age playing soccer.  My Mom pointed and said, “Audrey, look at those kids playing soccer. Would you like for me to sign you up to play?” As I ran the thought through my tiny kid brain, I came up with this answer…”No...not if you have to run!” At the time it seemed pretty logical, but fast forward four years and my slightly larger kid brain discovered cheerleading wasn’t for me and running wasn’t all that bad.  We had just moved to Oconee and I was new to soccer and the community. So I took the leap and signed up as the new girl who had never played soccer. It sounds crazy, but that decision changed my life! That is the moment when I knew I found my niche in the world. From my very first rec practice till now, I have grown in my love for the game. Soccer has taught me how to have confidence, be dedicated, be loyal, work hard in adversity, lead like you would want to be led, have patience with yourself and others, and most of all humility.  Not to mention, the friendships that I have developed through this game are my most precious gifts. It is amazing how a simple game can give it’s players so much more than a win. My family still laughs at how my soccer career almost didn't begin.

I am still searching for my niche in my college education.  I hope to bring what I have learned from my favorite game to my future education and career.  It is exciting to have so many options laid out before me, and I look forward to finding my passion that will become my future.  The opportunity to play soccer at the next level while I complete my education would be a blessing. I believe it would be the backbone to my college career and experience. I excel in a team atmosphere and look forward to playing at the next level.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
