2 years of NCAA eligibility left.
Played at University of Texas Permian Basin in the Lone Star Conference. Started and went a full 90 every game I played in as a Freshman in Fall 2018 Season. Became a Captain as a Freshman. Played the Fall of 2019 as a Sophomore Captain, started every game and played a full 90 minus being taken out due to injury. Our Fall 2020 season got cancelled due to Covid, and I underwent a shoulder surgery in September. Spring of 2021 I played as a "Senior" and played through re-injuring my shoulder, I still remained a Captain. The Spring 2021 season was a covid season and did not affect my eligibility status. I graduated a year early with my Bachelor's in Kinesiology in May 2021, Latin Honors Cum Laude with a 3.72 GPA.
I stepped away for the Fall of 2021 season to heal correctly after my senior year. I was a volunteer assistant coach for the women's soccer program at the University of Texas Permian Basin. While doing so I took a gap year from school to protect my eligibility.
I am now looking to return to playing college soccer and live out my dream I have forever had, which is described my 17-year-old self below.
I am seeking to obtain a Master's Degree while using my eligibility to its full potential. If given the chance to play again, I want to make an impact to a program, bring/add as much value as possible. Impact and value are two things I evaluate frequently in my life. I would be more than happy to explain my situation in more depth, or answer questions anyone may have. A great comeback is in process, however, I need a place to come back to as I seek to branch out of Odessa, Texas, and explore other options the universe may have for me.
Ever since I was four years old I have been playing soccer. From that moment in my life it has been a dream/goal of mine to play college soccer. Playing college ball is a once in a lifetime opportunity that is very very rare growing up on the island of Kaua'i. College soccer is something that will not only change my life, but also my families lives forever.
On the field I am a leader and I believe in leading by example. I'm an effective communicator on the field where I control the defense, and believe that communication is essential in soccer. Once I step onto the field I am a beast, I am a strong, solid defender with very good ball control. I go in hard on tackles and will do whatever it takes to get the ball. I am a coachable player, if my coach wants me to do something I will learn how to do it and refuse to stop until I can.
Growing up on Kaua'i it is hard to get the experience and exposure most athletes get, however I have travelled with NSA (National Soccer Academy) to Denmark and Sweden. Although I was only rostered on the U12 division the coaches saw me as such an animal they decided to pull me up to the U13, and U17 teams as well.
Personally I see myself as a more aggressive and passionate player than most athletes. In school I am just as driven as on the field, I maintain a 4.0 GPA with honors in advance placement classes and have recently started taking college classes. Currently I am ranked number 1 in my high school class. I am looking for a college that will allow me to continue to grow academically as well as on the soccer field.
