Hi ! My name is Taylor. I am in my senior year at Central High School in Burlington, Illinois . I made Varsity my Freshman year as a center-back and received all conference . I have played Varsity all 4 years and have always started and played every game as a starter ( unless injured) . I started at FCX my sophomore year playing outside-back at Barrington. I played up on a U-19 MRL team there. When I started the season, I was not at the same level as the rest of the girls but I am now a starter. I worked my butt off at every practice and every minute I got on the field during a game. I am a quick learner and if you tell me to do something I’ll find a way to do it. I started playing soccer at age 11 which is later than most girls but I worked hard and caught up to them.I started on a parks and rec soccer team and then for the past 7 years I have played on 3 different travel MRL teams. What stands out most about me on the field is my speed and ability to read the game. I am also very skilled at defending and I can be very aggressive when needed. In college I am hoping to be a center back, because I feel my speed is most useful in that position as well as my ability to read the game and defend the goal.
In my High School season this Spring 2017 we took 1st in our Regional Conference, 1st in our Section and won Super Sectional to earn a spot in the State Championship 2A. We earned 3rd in State and lost to the team that took first by one goal. I start and play every High School game in its entirety . I lead the defense as the Center Back. I was named caption this year and look forward to leading my team back to State. I hope to encourage and support the lower classmen on the team. I believe all team members are valuable and work best together when they feel supported and welcomed.
I am somewhat undecided about my major and am open to exploring my options . I am very interested in playing soccer throughout my college career as I know I do my best when I stay active and I really enjoy being part of a team. I am a very easy going person who takes things in stride. I avoid drama and get along well with all people. I have been told I am a leader by nature and have a great sense of humor. I am very responsible, dependable and committed. I take soccer and my academics seriously and feel I would be a good addition to a team and would always work very hard as a contributor .
Thank you for taking the time to read about me . I look forward to hearing from you !
