My name is Erin Clancy. I am a junior at Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, and I have been playing soccer since I was 4.
From third grade to eighth grade, I played for Mount Greenwood Knights Soccer Club, and from sophomore year until now, I played for Kics FC. I also played for Evergreen United for one season in the summer after my sophomore year. In club, I mainly play outside defense and occasionally outside midfield. For my high school team, I have been on varsity since freshman year, and I have been a starting center midfielder every game. From soccer, I have been able to learn about communicating with others while being able to make decisions quickly. I have earned several awards for my academic achievements, including "A Honor Roll" and I am currently the valedictorian of my class. During the school year, I have developed the ability to balance school and after-school sports. I have learned about time management and how to get my work done while still having time to develop my skills on the field. I am also a dual-sport athlete, playing volleyball on my high school team. Not only has adding another sport helped me work on my time management, it has also helped me gain several other skills, including building my upper body strength and developing faster decision-making. I am very grateful for all of the skills soccer has helped me develop and excited to see what it holds for my future.
