Hi! My name is Cameron Dinkla and I will graduate from Naperville North High School in 2022. I have played for Evolution Soccer Club since June 2016 when we moved to Lisle, IL. My team, Evolution ’03 Girls Mercurial, has been very successful! During the summer of 2020, we went undefeated in our Super Y League. In the fall of 2020, we competed in the top division, Premier I, of the US Youth Soccer Midwest Conference League. I was honored to be selected for the Fall 2020 Best XI Team as a midfielder!
I also play soccer for Naperville North High School. In the spring of 2021, I was a starter on the varsity soccer team. We had a great season, finishing as Regional and Sectional Champions. In the spring of 2020, I made the varsity team and was looking forward to defending the state championship from the previous year, but the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For my freshman year in the spring of 2019, I played on the JV1 team with many upperclassmen, and earned a starting midfield position. We were conference champions with a record of 13-0-1. I was named MVP of our team by my teammates and coaches.
Soccer is by far my favorite sport, but I also played volleyball and beach volleyball through my freshman year. In junior high, I also competed in basketball and track. By playing all these sports, I have developed very good time management skills and have maintained a 4.19 weighted GPA. Playing multiple sports also helps make me a more well-rounded athlete and soccer player.
I would love to play soccer in college because it is my passion. Words cannot describe the feeling I get every time I step onto a soccer field. I want to play at the highest competition level possible and make an impact on the team. I am still undecided on my major, and I am open to the location of the campus. Growing up, I have moved around a lot, so I do not have a preference yet on where my future college is located. I am looking for a school that will continue to challenge me academically and prepare me for success in a future career.
