My name is Kylie Reif and I am from West Lafayette, Indiana. I have played soccer since I was four years old and have found it difficult to imagine not playing the sport I love so much as long as possible. I have also loved the ocean as long as I can remember and want a career caring for the wildlife within. My dream is to put these two ideals together as I progress through my collegiate years.
I am currently playing high school soccer for the West Lafayette Red Devils as a striker/attacking mid. I started for my varsity squad my sophomore year and collected All Conference and All Area awards for that season. I was also an integral player as a freshman being first man off the bench on a Senior laden team. I play club soccer for the Indiana Fire Juniors in the same positions. Joining this team in 2019 allowed for greater competition and has allowed me to develop under advanced coaching. COVID interrupted our spring season, however, I look forward to leading my team through winter showcase events and a spring season playing in the Great Lakes Conference of National League. I also played for the Boilers FC prior winning 3 Divisional Championships. Throughout my years of playing, I have been trained in all areas of the field.
I am a driven student athlete, with a 3.9 GPA at a college-prep high school, looking to forward myself to a career as an Aquatic Veterinarian. I will look to study Marine/Environmental/Biological Sciences or Pre-Vet as I head to college. In preparation for that career, I have attended Marine Camps on both sides of the country and am SCUBA certified.
I have played basketball since first grade and start for the Varsity squad at my school. I have also thrown discus since 7th grade. I am a 2 year letterman in soccer, a 2 year letterman in basketball, and a 1 year letterman in track (missing my sophomore opportunity due to COVID). I like to write and am working on a historical/fictional novel based on my family heritage. I love to travel and look to SCUBA whenever possible. I am a member of our school Climate Strike Committee and the Dance Marathon Club, a philanthropic organization which supports Riley Childrens' Hospital.
Three words friends/teammates would use to describe me are competitive, driven and extroverted. My coaches have characterized me as very coachable and nicknamed me the "energizer bunny". My mom appreciates that I'm a little "old-school". I always look to do my best and appreciate a challenge. My goal is to play soccer in a competitive yet positive environment where I can also achieve my dream career.
