Hi, my name is Addie and I am apart of the class 2025. Ever since I was a young girl I've had two aspirations: to work in the medical field and to play soccer. College allows me to pursue those dream concurrently. My mom is a nurse and my dad is a high school principal and soccer coach. I feel that my goals in life have combined the best parts of them. It is that upbringing , of my mom and dad that has influenced the way I approach life. From my mom I am tenacious, I have grit and perseverance, and bring a never say die attitude. From my dad I look at things through a strategic lens, prepare accordingly, and plot out goals in order to bring purpose to my weeks. My dad has also been my soccer coach. From the time I could walk I've had a soccer ball at my feet. I would attend his varsity and premier practices learning from him, the other coaches and his players. Because of that upbringing I can use both of my feet with ample skills and power, I am good at reading the game as plays develop, and I know the importance of working out in order to fight for a starting position. Most importantly, I've learned the value of being a team mate. Watching him coach I know it is important to develop all players. In doing so, I strive to not only model being a good player but a good teammate. Helping and supporting the underclassmen and younger players is imperative for a successful program. Coincidentally, my dad is also my principal. As I walk into his office I see pictures of his alma mater and his degrees from Syracuse University and Boston College. Needless to say, the value of academics is paramount in our household. It has been instilled in me that to do any job is to do it correctly. That includes academics, soccer, and the workforce.
