My name is Aisha Kamara. I am currently in the 10th grade at Fairmont Heights High School in Capital Heights MD. My nationality is Liberian and Sudanese but I was born in America and I come from a household of a twin brother, two younger twin siblings, and two older sisters. I come from a family where everyone has played soccer, my two uncles were soccer players at Bladensburg High School and had a chance to go pro back then but there was not a lot of money to pay for the movement. Growing up, as I was inspired by all the father figures in my life, I knew I wanted to play soccer. Sports wasn't the first thing that came into my mind when I reached upper elementary but I always gave it a shot. My uncle and brother always used to play soccer with me at home and it was something I enjoyed doing. When I was about 6-7 years old I started playing for my uncle's coach youth club, it was called Shalom FC but it is now called YUSA FC. During my time there, I had a wonderful experience, we practiced Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My biggest accomplishment was receiving the MVP award for youth 8-9. I always loved watching my female role models like Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and Carli Lloyd, those were my biggest inspirations and I always wanted to be like them. Now I am in high school as a sophomore and as I started my freshman year, I wasn't the best at soccer as everyone played for a club and played during the summer break, my club ended back in 2020 because of COVID-19. As time went on, I learned more and more things and ended up becoming the most improved player of the year. I've started my sophomore year as the captain of the Fairmont Heights Lady Hornets soccer team and I can say that I am proud of myself for coming this far. After high school, I would like to study business administration, marketing, and nursing. the colleges I am interested in are Howard University, University of Maryland College Park, Grand Canyon University, Florida State University, Clemson University, and Towson University.
