Personal Statement

"Attitude and effort" is what I've always been taught makes the difference. It is these characteristics that have helped me work my way to play on a top flight 1 team in California and now in Maryland. I love being challenged to earn my spot. I've already learned a lot about how to adjust and deal with change, and I will put in the work to find a way to be successful.

In 8th grade we moved from California to Maryland. Moving was not something I wanted at the time, but something I had to embrace. I knew I would have to work even harder to find a way to be successful in soccer and in school.

When we moved, I knew I wanted to play at the highest possible level and was offered a spot on the Maryland Development Academy Team. I worked hard and started every game, and was even given the chance to play an age group up multiple times. I learned a lot with DA and loved the experience. I take a lot of pride in my sport, but I also have a lot of pride in my school. As I was entering 9th grade, I realized it was very important to me to play high school soccer. It was a very difficult decision, but I chose to find a new club so I could represent my school, so I now play on bethesda ecnl 1.  One of my greatest accomplishments in high school so far is that I was a starting varsity soccer player as a freshman and sophomore , while still keeping over a 4.2 GPA. I received all county, all state, and all met this year and I was top goal scorer in Howard County. This experience has helped me gain a new confidence in myself and learn how to be a better leader on and off the field. I will always push myself to develop and improve as a soccer player, while also maintaining my grades.

I realize now more than ever, that there is always an opportunity to learn and get better, even when life doesn't go as planned. I know I'm prepared to bring that attitude and determination as a student-athlete in college, to be a great teammate, and I'm excited to have an immediate impact with the right program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
