My name is Evann Yake. I have been playing soccer ever since I was 4 years old. My love for the game continues to grow everyday and I never fail to realize how lucky I am that I get to play the sport I love. I have played travel soccer since I was 11 and before then I played on a coed recreational team. My dream and life long goal since I can remember has been to play soccer at the collegiate level. I continue to recognize the time, effort, and dedication it takes to not only get there, but to succeed once I get there. I plan to give my all in order to accomplish my life long goal. On the field I am smart. I make decisions that will help my team win games. I'm not only a goal scorer, I also have great passing skills and love when my teammates score! I am a leader to my team, I keep them focused and in the game despite what the score or outcome may be. I keep them positive and make sure that we never give up. I try to set an example at practice and in the game by giving my all and never giving up. I am very coachable and crave criticism and suggestions to make me a better player and teammate on and off the field. I always give 110% percent at practice, on the field, and even in the classroom. As a student I strive for perfection. When I am not at practice or a game, I am studying and doing school work to maintain my 4.5 GPA along with my record of straight A’s. I am also involved in many clubs and my community. I am involved in Future Christian Athletes (FCA), Student Government (SGA), Math Team, and National Junior Honor Society and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society. I currently voluntarily coach at the very club I started playing rec soccer for 12 years ago. My hope and goal is to attend a college where I can challenge myself academically and athletically. I hope to attend a college where I can be involved in the community. I hope to attend a college that fits my wants along with my needs. I desire to play at a competitive level and I aspire to become a well rounded student athlete. I also aspire to become a successful athlete, student, leader, teammate, and role model. I hope to accomplish my life long goal making myself, my parents, my family, my team, and my Lord proud.
