By the time I graduate high school, I will have moved 7 times. This is the life of a military child. Through all these moves, I have always resorted to soccer as a way to meet new people and experience different parts of the country and even the world. I've been able to acquire and observe different styles of play and bring new and exciting ideas to my club and even my high school team. I was able to balance soccer with competitive gymnastics all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. However, I realized that my commitment to gymnastics wasn't as strong as soccer and I unfortunately needed to make a choice and soccer became my ultimate goal. Once I reached high school, I also fell in love with track and cross country and in my first year running, was able to take 3rd in our High School's State Meet for triple jump which I accredit to my 10 year gymnastics background.
I am unlike most candidates. I don't have the full school experience that many do with remaining in one school for their entire career. I am someone that needs to start over every 2 years. I need to learn the names of new teammates, need to make new friends, learn my way around campus, introduce myself to new teachers and do my best to impress my coaches. This experience has taught me lessons that other students are unable to grasp and that makes me a strong and unique candidate for any team that recruits me.
