Hi coaches!
My name is Lacy Sanders I'm from Somerville, MA, but I attend the Woodward School for Girls in Quincy MA. I have played soccer since I was 3 and have always loved the sport. I have not always been a Goalkeeper but when I started playing goal at 10 I immediately fell in love. I have been told I am a leader, and competitive on and off the field. During the 2024 season, I played two age groups up on the 2007 (U17) team and the 2006/05 (U19) team with FC Stars, which taught me how to play with stronger, older, more experienced girls and helped me gain more confidence. During this season (2025) with my New England Surf, I play on the 2008 Sky team which competes in the National Academy League and I also will play in the MA State Cup this winter/spring.
I have played for the Massachusetts ODP pool for the past three years including this year. My confidence on and off the ball has grown immensely, being part of the ODP pool and the coaches push me to my best ability and make me a much stronger player. I traveled with my ODP team to London last April for 11 days where we played in friendlies against local academies and trained with many experienced well-known coaches. I also learned so much from the matches and the coaches that I apply to how I play today. If I am not playing soccer (which is most of the time) I am on the field helping the next generation by being the Somerville Youth Soccer GK Coach, coaching District Select with my dad, or being a referee.
As part of the class of 2027, I compete at a varsity level as the starting goalkeeper, was named a captain as a Sophomore, and won the GIL All-League award this past season as a Freshman for the Girls Independent School League, where my High School competes. When not on the field, I am the Secretary of the National Arts Honor Society and the Co-President of the Interact Club, and I take part in singing and performing when I can. As well as my school’s varsity basketball team, I have trained and still currently am training, weightlifting, and conditioning at Grey’s Anatomy Academy.
I am looking for a highly competitive school that can allow me to express myself artistically in the classroom but also allow me to play at a very highly competitive level. Even though I participate in many activities, soccer has always been my drive and focus. With my leadership skills, kindness, drive, heart, and passion on and off the field, I believe I am the type of Goalkeeper you are looking for!
